Let’s get creative for the holidays! In this step-by-step sewing lesson and video, we will easily sew ourselves a festive kitchen apron that not only protects us from flour clouds but also spreads Christmas cheer. The apron will feature a Christmas tree with playful toys on the front – a real feast for the eyes! The lesson is easy, fun, and full of ideas, making it perfect for those who want to add a handmade touch of warmth to their kitchen.
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here you can find all pattern pieces and their dimensions. All dimensions are shown with sewing allowances. Unless otherwise specified, use a 1 cm seam allowance for all seams.

- Apron dimensions.
- Apron waist belt dimensions ( 2 pcs. ).
- Aprons have a top strap on which a metal or plastic strap length adjuster will be placed.
- A long strap around the neck holds the apron in place.
Sewing the festive kitchen apron
When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Cut a fir tree out of green cotton fabric according to the dimensions indicated above. Sew a cut-out fir tree onto a piece of linen fabric. Sew the cut-out fir tree to the linen fabric (remember to leave a 2-3 cm gap at the bottom of the fir tree) and trim the excess linen fabric along the edges of the fir tree. Then turn out it over and smooth it out well with an iron.
Sew the fir tree edges onto the middle part of the apron (no.1). Don’t forget to add a Christmas tree stem at the bottom and sew colored buttons onto the tree to represent the tree decorations.

Step 2. Cut two strips about 3 cm from the same fabric as the apron and sew them to the apron, as shown in photo 1. Then sew a double fold along the seam edge of the strip on the other side, as shown in photo 2. And in the third photo, you can already see the waist and neck apron ties sewn according to the above measurements. To do this, cut strips of fabric, fold them lengthwise, and sew them together, leaving one side unsewn so that the strips can be turned over. Smooth the turned strips and sew the finishing thread around the edge of the strip. Now we have four belts: two for the neck and two for the torso.

Step 3. We sew the longest (no.4) and shortest (no.3) sewn strips to the top of the apron as shown by the white marks in the first photo. Then, from the same apron fabric, cut one 6×25 cm and two 6×45 cm strips. Place the shorter strip on top of the apron, as shown in the second photo, and sew where indicated by the white dotted line. Fold the strip to the other side and sew the edge of the flap as shown by the white line in photo 3.
Thread the end of the long belt onto the adjuster on the short belt.

Step 4. Unfold the bottom edge of the apron as in the first photo. Then sew the belts to the sides of the apron and sew 6×45 cm strips to them along the edge, fold them to the other side, and sew in the same way as the top strip. You can see the whole process in photos 2 and 3.
