Sew a mug wrap for Halloween. She improvises to create a smiling, angry pumpkin. This mug is fun to keep outside because the lid is made of felt, which warms your hands on a cold day. Plus, the tea won’t cool down as quickly. The bright color of the pumpkin will be visible from afar and will glow after dark. The tutorial is straightforward and can be completed by anyone just starting to sew. Here, you will find a video and description that explain, step by step, how to sew this unique cup wrap.

Cutting out pattern pieces
Here you can find all pattern pieces and their dimensions. Numbered pieces mark parts of the mug wraps.
- The base on which the eyes and mouth will be sewn. It is cut from orange color felt. Cut the base according to the measurements of your cup. You will need to measure the height and circumference of the cup.
- Pumpkin eyes are cut into two pieces. The nose is cut smaller than the eyes. Cut from black felt.
- The pumpkin mouth is also cut into two pieces. Cut from black felt.

Sewing the Helloween mug wrap
When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Once you have cut out the main piece marked No. 1, draw the fabric every 4 cm as shown in the picture below. Then sew along (about 2 mm) these marked areas every 4 cm.

Step 2. Cut 2 eyes from black felt according to the dimensions given above in detail 2. The nose should be smaller than the dimensions of the eyes, but it can be the same shape. Sew the eyes and nose onto the base.
Then we cut the mouth from the double-folded fabric. This way, we cut out two parts which we will sew onto the base as shown in the picture.

Step 3. Wrap the cup with fabric, measure, and mark the seams at the top and bottom. In the picture, it is marked with two green lines, but remember that there must be an unstitched gap between the marked green lines so that the cup lug insert can slide through. Sew them and trim off the excess fabric.
All you have to do is cover your mug with this bright coat and enjoy hot tea in the yard on Halloween.

This fun sewing tutorial is perfect for people who want to get into the Halloween spirit without wearing a full costume. Dress up your mug in a Halloween shirt and you’ll suddenly feel festive enough to visit a pumpkin patch, throw an office party, or cozy up to a horror movie with a hot drink.
