This Labubu backpack’s cute and eye catching version is perfect for little ones and older kids.

Cutting out pattern pieces

Here you can find all pattern pieces and their dimensions. In the first picture, you can see the dimensions of the Labubu appliqué. The dimensions of the pupils, nose, and eyebrows are not indicated. Just cut them out according to your understanding.

This photo shows the backpack dimensions.  Numbered pieces mark parts of the Labubu backpack.

  1. The main part of the bag is 2 pieces.
  2. Tapes to zipper 2 pcs.
  3. The strip between the main details that connects them.
  4. Handle.
  5. Straps to which the plastic belt adjusters will be attached, 2 pcs.
  6. Backpack straps, 2 pcs.

Sewing the Labubu backpack

When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.

Step 1. Sew the eyes and eyelashes to Labubu’s face. Then sew the brown and black part on the ear cut from the green faux fur; these will be Labubu’s ears. Cut a 10 cm piece of white ribbon as shown in the picture and sew it to Labubu’s face. This will be the character’s mouth and teeth. Cut out the nose, eyebrows, and irises to your liking. Sew the completed face onto the head from green faux fur

Step 2. After joining both ear pieces together, turn them right side out and sew the ears to the top of Labubu’s head, as you can see in one of the pictures. Then sew the head face down onto the green cotton fabric. Don’t forget to leave an unsewn gap for turning.

Step 3. The next step is to cut off the excess material, turn it over, and sew Labubu’s head to the main parts of the backpack.

Step 4. Sew the strips (part no. 2) to the sides of the zipper. This will give you a 5 cm strip. Connect the ends of this strip to the ends of the part marked with number 3 (the strip between the main details that connects them).

Step 5. Sew the strips marked No. 4, 5, and 6 onto a similar-sized dark lining fabric, and turn them out using a stick. Sew the edges of the entire strips around with finishing seams. Fold strip no. 4 and sew the edges to the main backpack parts at the top. Next to both sides sew strips no. 6, as you can see in the picture, with four buckles and a yellow line.

Attach the plastic belt adjusters to the small strips No. 5 and sew both parts together at the bottom, as you can see in the third picture with the two buckles.

Step 6. Now, screw the part you sewed in step 4 to one of the main parts as shown in the picture below. Also, connect the other side of the main part.

Step 7. All you have to do is neatly trim the edges of the joint and edge them with edge tape.

Unzip the backpack and turn it out. Fasten the ends of the backpack’s long straps onto the plastic adjusters at the bottom.
