You need to go to the gym, and you don’t want to put your sneakers in a simple plastic bag. Here you will find a tutorial on how to sew a practical sneakers bag that will look beautiful and stylish. By following the step-by-step description and photos, including a video, you will easily sew even if you are not used to it. The sneakers bag has two pockets on both sides where you can put an extra pair of socks, a handkerchief, or other small items needed for sports.
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here you can find all pattern pieces and their dimensions. Numbered pieces mark parts of the sneakers bag.

- The main part of the bag is 2 pieces.
- Tapes to zipper 2 pcs.
- The strip between the main details that connects them.
- Pockets closing flaps 4 pcs.
- Pockets 2 pcs.
- Bag strap – handle
Sewing the Sneakers bag
When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Fold the top of both pockets and sew with a seam as shown in the first picture with the yellow line.
Round off the bottom of the pocket and sew with a large stitch as shown in the second picture with the green dotted line. Then take one end of the thread and gently pull it while holding the fabric. Then take one end of the thread and gently pull it while holding the fabric. The pulled thread will bend the edge of the fabric and make it easier to sew the pocket evenly to the base.
Sew together the two pocket closing flaps details (part no. 4) together, trim the edges and turn them out, and sew the edges with two decorative seams as shown in the white line in the third picture.

Step 2. Sew on 3 cm Velcro strips to the closure flap and pockets. Then sew the pocket and closure flap onto the main linen fabric detail of the bag.

Step 3. Place the three layers of fabric in a row as shown in picture 1 and iron them. One side of the polyester has a surface that sticks to the fabric. Then sew around the edge so that all three fabrics stick together tightly, and it is easier to connect with the other parts of the bag.
Sew linen strips to the sides of the zipper and connect one edge with the sewn edge of the three-layer tape, as you can see in picture 3.

Step 4. Now sew the bag strap—handle — and fold it in half, then attach both ends to the other edge of the zipper. Then connect this edge to the other edge of the three-layer tape. Edge both edges of the attached zipper with red ribbon cut diagonally from torn red cotton. Sew the decorative seam from the outside as shown in the third picture, the yellow line.

Step 5. Sew the ribbon to the main linen bag detail as shown in the photo below. Then sew the edging to the edge, trim the edges neatly so that the folded edging fits nicely and evenly.

Step 6. The last step is to sew a folded edging strip along the edge, and your sneaker bag is complete. Put your sneakers in the bag, and put in a spare pair of socks, a tissue, and other small items you need for your training into the pockets and head to the gym.

If you are a beginner seamstress, this is not a problem. Follow the steps in the description and watch the video, and then you will easily sew this sneaker bag.
