Everyone appreciates handmade Christmas trio toy decorations. This Christmas trio toy is made of three geometric shapes: a pyramid, a cube, and a ball. It is very easy for both an adult and a child to make.
All three figures are sewn from different colors. You can choose the colors at your discretion.
Materials
To make this nice Christmas trio toy you will need :
- Polyester felt three colors 20 cm x 15 cm
- Wadding 100% polyester
- Linen string
- Three colors Sewing thread No. 120
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here, you can find all the pattern pieces and their dimensions. All dimensions are shown with sewing allowances. Since we will be sewing from the outside, leaving a 0.5 cm seam allowance is enough.
The photo below shows pieces of the pattern.
We need six blue square pieces, four green triangle pieces, and five orange leaves. You can choose the colors at your discretion.
Steps for sewing the Christmas trio toy
Step 1. Connect all six square pieces as shown in the picture below, leaving about a 3 cm gap.
Step 2. Insert the wadding into the middle of the cube through the gap left. When you have filled the entire cube, sew the gap. Don’t forget to attach it with linen string for hanging.
Step 3. Connect all four triangle pieces as shown in the picture below. Leave about 3 cm gap.
Step 4. Insert the wadding into the middle of the pyramid through the gap left. When you have filled the entire pyramid, sew the gap. Don’t forget to attach it with linen string for hanging.
Step 5. Connect all five leaf pieces as shown in the picture below. Leave about 3 cm gap.
Step 6. Insert the wadding into the middle of the ball through the gap left. When you have filled the entire ball, sew the gap. Don’t forget to attach it with linen string for hanging.
