A quick and easy way to sew a basket yourself. This method is very easy, even for those who are unfamiliar with sewing. The bright yellow color on the inside of the box gave the basket a sunny name. This basket will fit on your desk or shelf.

Materials
To make a beautiful sunny basket, you will need:
- Yellow cotton fabric
- Grey-mottled cotton fabric
- Two colors of sewing threads (no.120)
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here are all the pattern pieces and their dimensions. All dimensions are shown with sewing allowances. If not indicated otherwise, use a 1 cm seam allowance for all seams.
On the edges of the circle, 5 cm long stitches are made towards the center, thus forming the wall of the basket. A total of eight stitches is made. You can put a synthetic lining between the fabrics, then the basket will be stronger and stand stably on any surface.
Sewing the sunny basket step-by-step
When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Cut two balls of 30 cm diameter from different fabrics. In this case, we have yellow and grey variegated cotton fabrics. Place them right sides together and sew them around the edges of the fabric. Don’t forget to leave a 3 cm – 5 cm gap through which you can turn the fabric out and iron it. Draw a circle in the middle, leaving a 5 cm gap from the edge, as shown in the black line in photo 2, and draw 8 dashes around it, as shown in the white line in photo 3.
Step 2. Now fasten all the white markings (photo 1) with pins or needles to create a 5 cm wide broadside. Then sew 1 cm from the edge with a decreasing 1 mm wide seam, as shown by the yellow dotted line in photo 2.
Sew the fabric between the seams at the bottom of the outer edge of the box, as shown in photo 3. In photo 4, the white dotted line on the bottom of the box shows how it is sewn. This will keep the shape of the box and make it stand up nicely, as shown in photo 5.
