Here’s a tutorial on how to sew the tablecloth. This tablecloth is not large but looks beautiful in the middle of the table. It is easy for beginners to sew.
Materials
To make this nice tablecloth you will need:
- Light gray cotton fabric 42 cm x 21 cm
- Gray cotton with stars 60 cm x 40 cm
- Dark blue cotton with stars 45 cm x 20 cm
- Striped blue cotton 45 cm x 20 cm
- Gray and blue treads no. 120
The instructions below provide the measurements for cutting out pattern pieces and the main steps for sewing the tablecloth.
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here are all the pattern pieces and their dimensions. All dimensions are shown with sewing allowances. If not indicated otherwise, use a 0.5 cm seam allowance for all seams.
The size of the tablecloth is 42 cm x 21 cm and we will sew triangle decorations on its edges. How to sew the decorations is shown in the pictures below.
According to these dimensions, we cut 6 pieces from each fabric.
The photo below shows the larger triangles that will be sewn to the tablecloth. We cut 2 pieces of each detail.
Steps for sewing the kitchen gloves
When all the pattern pieces are cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Fold the triangles cut out in all sizes in half. Sew the edges as shown in the picture with the red line. Then turn them all out and iron them.
Step 2. We stack the sewn and aligned triangles on top of each other in descending order. Connect them at the bottom as shown by the green line in the photo. Two large connected triangles are placed at the edges of the tablecloth and six smaller ones are placed on both sides of the tablecloth.
We sew the triangles around the tablecloth with thread as shown by the green line in the photo.
Step 3. Turn the triangles inside out and sew around them as shown in the green line in photo 1. Then fold the small triangles on the tablecloth inwards and sew them to the tablecloth.
All you have to do is iron this beautiful tablecloth and use it for its intended purpose.
