Two hats in one

Want a stylish, practical accessory you can sew in under an hour? This two hats in one reversible tutorial shows you exactly how to make a cozy hat you can wear both ways. With clear step-by-step photos and a beginner-friendly video guide, you’ll be surprised at how simple this project is, even if you’re just starting your sewing journey. Follow along and create a hat that’s as versatile as it is fun to sew!

The hat is made of two-tone elastic cotton fabrics. The dark blue and bright green colors beautifully complement and reflect each other. The lightweight materials make this version perfect for spring walks, sunny outings, and kids’ playtime.

Cutting out pattern pieces

Here you can find all pattern pieces and their dimensions. Both color cutouts are the same size.

Sewing two hats in one

When you have all the pattern pieces cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.

Step 1. Cut out the details from the green and blue fabric according to the dimensions indicated in the picture above. Fold them in half and sew the edges as shown with the clasps in the photo below.

Step 2. Place the blue fabric inside the green fabric and join the ends on one side. Then turn it over as shown in the next photo, and put the ends of the fabric marked with red circles together, and connect the other edges of both fabrics (those marked with a red dotted line). Don’t forget to leave a small gap of 4-5 cm unsewn.

Step 3. In the first photo, you can see what the joined ends of both fabrics look like. Turn out this fabric over the small, unsewn gap you left. Now smooth the fabric well so that you can sew the finishing thread neatly along the edges as shown in the photo with the white dotted line.

Step 4. Hold one end of the hat in your hand and tie a string about 5 cm below it as shown in the picture. Spread the tied part of the hat to the edges until you get a beautiful flower-like shape.
