I like the circus, so this time, I want to show you how to sew a joker application on a piece of denim. You can sew this colorful joker on a jacket, bag, backpack, or the back of a T-shirt.
It’s not difficult for any beginner to sew; it just requires a bit of nicety.

The instructions below provide the measurements for cutting out the pattern pieces and the main steps for sewing the joker application on jeans.
Cutting out pattern pieces
Here are all the pattern pieces and their dimensions. All dimensions are shown with sewing allowances. If not indicated otherwise, use a 0.5 cm seam allowance for all seams.
You will cut out seven different shapes: a hat with a colorful stripe on the hat and the contours of the face.

- Joker’s face.
- Yellow heart on the lower part of the face.
- Joker’s nose.
- Eyebrows.
- Top of the hat.
- Hattbrätte.
- Face mouth.
Steps for sewing the Joker application on denim
When all the pattern pieces are cut out and ready, follow the steps below to sew them together.
Step 1. Cut out all the details, as shown in the first picture. Place the details shown in the second picture on the lining and sew. Place the eyebrows cut out of dark cotton on the dark lining and sew them on.
The hat details do not need to be sewn onto the lining.

Step 2. Trim the edges around the details, as shown in the yellow lines. The more often you trim, the nicer the edge is when you turn it inside out. The black lines in the picture indicate unstitched gaps.
Fold the edges of both parts of the hat 0.5 cm and iron them to make them easier to sew.
Trim the edges around the eyebrows and turn them out.

Step 3. Smooth all the turned-over parts with an iron. On the lower edge of the face, sew a yellow heart with yellow thread and a mouth on top of it with red thread.
Sew the nose as shown in the picture below. Cut out small white eyes and a black iris from polyester felt and sew them on the face.
Sew the face onto the denim fabric and then sew on the eyebrows.

Step 4. The last step is to sew the joker’s hat. First, we fold the edges inward and sew the top part of the hat and then the bottom edge of the hat. The bottom part of the hat should cover the top edge of the face.

Here is your funny joker. Good luck.
